Tuesday morning saw Michael Da Costa spend most of it finishing one of the countless items on his agenda.
He was completing the new hardwood floors in the grill room at the SkyView Golf Club.
This new change remains one xof the several changes the club’s new head golf professional is seeking to implement for his first season at the club.
Golfers who normally tee it up in the mountainous rolling course this season should more or less expect a new, modern feel that the head golf professional is planning to promote on the course this year.
Already overhauled is the club’s pro shop. The grill room is also undergoing a complete face lift from floor to ceiling. In order to introduce golfers to the course, Da Costa is hoping to host varieties of new events on the course this season.
Speaking, he noted that the vision was to promote the course as a full public course.
“The vision that we both have is to get the course back to where it was, promoting that it’s a full public course, we offer memberships and get our outings back to where they were a few years ago,” he said.
While Tiger Woods is yet to call it quits away from the game in which he has so far won 14 Majors, the fact remains that he isn’t sure of where he is going.
This weekend saw the golf super star in Bahamas, once again playing in a competitive action, and trying to find out what is left of his swing, his legend and his game.
Rickie Fowler, Current PGA hotshot, while musing before Woods teed off at the Hero Challenge on Thursday had said,
“The better he plays, the better it is for golf.”
Nothing that would be said after Sunday by the time Woods wraps up his 72nd hole, would be more salient than the words of Rickie Fowler.
Woods remains a cornerstone for golf, which he has been not just before teeing off on Thursday in Nassau, after laying off for about 465 days, but even for the past 20 years.
Not every golfer is the staid and conservative player.
There is no better example than Rickie Fowler. He is considered a rock star and not without reason. If you see his style of playing you will know that he does not follow the traditional path when it comes to golfing. Hence, you cannot title him as a kid who has grown up and learned to play the game in a country club environment. Having come from a semi rural region in California, he has had lots of fun racing dirt bikes from five years of age as well as discovering golf as a game in Murrieta which is his home town.
Fowler is titled as the number eleven player in the world rankings and that is no minor achievement under his belt. He has several fast cars in his garage today, though his love for dirt bikes still remains. He even sponsors a racing team of Porsche in US. He is planning to try racing himself after a point in time when golf feels too hard for him.
With the Olympic Games about to begin and golf been included in the Games this year, there is much excitement among the teams that would be participating.
Among the players who are part of the US Team is Rickie Fowler. He would be the oldest golfer from the American team to be part of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. We have seen him in action when he played the Memorial Tournament held in Dublin at the Muirfoeld Village Golf Club. It was held in June this year. There are others too, which would be representing the States and would be part of the Summer Olympics. Many of the fellow players would be at TPC River Highlands like Kuchar, Reed and Watson. Rickie Fowler is to be the fourth member of the country team.
With the rosters out of the golf standings one can figure out the positions of the different players in the opening ceremony in the Olympics.
Rickie Fowler is in four out of top-5 major ends in the year 2014 along with a win at Players Championship 2015 signal that he is all set for the next step in golf – fetching a major title.
The twenty-seven year old man from the United States, believed among the best golfers who have not won a major, takes a great confidence from his success in the last 2 seasons into Thursday’s first round of 80th Masters.
Fowler told that previous year was undoubtedly a step in the prefect direction for him, after good ends in the year 2014 in majors. He feel like the perfect storm, combine 2014 and 2015 together, compeers winning a major, that is the way he look at that.
Rickie offered a landmark campaign in 2014, sharing 5th at Masters, 2nd at US Open and the Open Championship as well as 3rd at PGA Championship. Just 3 other golfers have achieved top-5 ends in all 4 majors in the very same year –Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, as well as defending US Open and Masters champ Jordan Spieth previous year.
Rickie Fowler is as passionate a lover as he is on field with the stick and the ball. Thus, when a social media post came out slamming his girlfriend, the rising PGA pro was dedicated enough to hit back with sharp comments.
Such a bold and dedicated action from Fowler must have spiked his fan base further.
A few days ago, Fowler’s girlfriend, Alexis Randock, a bikini model, came up with a photo over Instagram which featured her with her sister Nicole. The duo was seen relaxing on a beautiful beach.
The snap was shared among 25,000 followers of Alexis that included the very abusive commenter, who appeared in the name of “fatalsplash”. Accusing Alexis as “gold digger”, the commenter claimed that she enjoys a fun life, without any work.
“Must be great to get s*** free & not getting into work for that in life”, read the abusive post.
Fowler was fast to react as soon as the post caught his eye. He instantly defended his beloved girlfriend commenting that the slammer should get all the “facts straight prior to taking on my girlfriend this way.”
It seems that Alexis herself, too, is smart enough to hit back on anybody who abuses her.
